Karen Bonanno, SHRM-SCP, PI is a long-time senior consultant with P•A•S Associates. Her family purchased the company from founder Holly Culhane on March 13, 2017. She serves as the president of P•A•S Associates and P•A•S Investigations and works side-by-side with the team of P•A•S professionals and consultants. In addition to her consultant role, Karen has assumed strategic leadership, planning, and marketing duties for the firm.

Before joining P•A•S Associates in 2005, Karen spent more than two decades in human resources and environmental services as the Human Resources Specialist and Project Manager for a local environmental laboratory. In addition to working for P•A•S Associates, Karen owns and manages Snelling Staffing, which provides a variety of labor resource services for local medical, industrial, agricultural, and environmental businesses. Her experience in working with decision makers in a variety of industries has enabled Karen to help businesses improve effectiveness through proper management of human resources. Karen’s expertise is in wage and hour issues, leave of absence policies, compensation studies/surveys, classification reviews, job descriptions, employee policy handbooks, recruiting, background checks, and general compliance.

Karen is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resources Management and holds a certification in Human Resources Management from California State University Bakersfield. She is a member of the national and local chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management and currently serves on the board of directors for the Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary where she acts as Fundraising Chair. Karen is currently the President-Elect of the NOR Chamber of Commerce as well as current Board Member and former President of Bakersfield Business Network. She actively supports the local Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and, through P•A•S, supports local causes by committing time and donations each month to non-profit organizations.
