Our Club's signature event is a go for 2021. Thousand Flags will occur at The Park At Riverwalk May 29-May 31. It will be bare bones with Flags, an Info Booth and perhaps flag ceremonies on Monday.
All hands are needed for set up, take down and to staff the info booth all day, all 3 days. Shifts are 3 hours in most cases with a couple of 1 hours and a couple of 2 hours.
Text or call or email Denise Haynes with your requested shift(s). First come, first served.
You don't have to sign up for set up or take down on Saturday between 8am - 10 am or Monday 4 pm - 6 pm, just BE THERE!
The only thing better than fresh scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy in the morning is to be at a Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary meeting, HEY, if you were at our May 12th meeting you were in luck because we got both! President David Spalinger was energized to get the meeting underway with an Invocation from Jeff Bell and America’s Flag Salute lead by Stephanie Baker. Now that her kids are back in school, Chelsea Ashcraft is back in our morning meetings. As our duly designated Songstress, she for some inexplicable reason chose the Hokey Pokey song to inspire us. I was late to the meeting but would have loved to see this song performed! I am personally glad each Rotary club does not have to have their own theme song, because if they were, the Hokey Pokey would certainly be ours.
