Whatever Bob wants to share with us

Robert Price is attempting to pull off a small miracle:  Old guy with no TV experience changes careers when he really should be making retirement plans and lasts (so far) an entire year. Bob worked at The Californian for 32 years and did everything from cover sports to write editorials. He started writing his column in 1999 and continues, on a freelance basis, to this day. That comes out to roughly 3,500 columns. He is best known for his body of work on the Lords of Bakersfield (and related tales of corruption) and the Bakersfield Sound country music phenomenon of the 1950s and ‘60s. In February 2020, just in time for the pandemic, he switched to KGET-TV, where his most noteworthy project thus far has been a five-part series on the illicit synthetic opioid fentanyl, which has killed more than 200 Kern County residents since January 2020. He still does not know how to iron properly, as thousands of viewers have surely realized over the past 16 months.
